About the Grant Park Cooperative Preschool

Grant Park Cooperative Preschool is dedicated to providing children in the Grant Park community of Atlanta with a secure and loving environment utilizing music, art, language, and literature in an innovative approach that allows students to direct the learning process. GPCP is a cooperative effort in which parents take responsibility for the education of children through daily involvement in all aspects of school operations. Our school was founded in 2000 by a group of dedicated parents. At Grant Park Cooperative School, we believe that the community, parents, and teachers should all work together to help our children discover their individual strengths and develop their relationship skills.

The Grant Park Cooperative Preschool was only a concept in January of 1999. Through the dedication of parent resources the school opened the doors to the first classroom in September of 2000. Today, the school is a vital part of the community, serving 73 children ages one to four.

The cooperative nature of the Preschool is crucial to both its identity and its future. It is the commitment and enthusiasm of each member that makes the Preschool a vital and growing operation. Parent participation at the Preschool is so extensive and varied that there will be many ways for you to find your niche.

Parents play a vital role in the school, including serving as board members. Meet the current board.
